    Aluminum or steel tank?

    Aluminum tanks are affordable, durable, and the most common rental tank, but they become buoyant as they empty. Steel tanks cost more but hold more air for their size and stay negatively buoyant, so you can carry less lead.

    How often does my tank need to be inspected?

    Tanks need a visual inspection every year and a hydrostatic test every five years. Blue Water Hunter and other dive shops won't fill a tank that is out of date.
